Sonic fans can dive into Sonic x Shadow Generations right now on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. In addition, the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Movie Pack is available now, allowing players to explore modern-day Shibuya as Shadow from Sonic the Hedgehog 3, voiced by Keanu Reeves himself. The level is accessible from the White Space in Shadow Generations, which is Shadow’s campaign.
It’s worth noting that there’s no upgrade pack for Sonic X Shadow Generations for Nintendo Switch 2, meaning that players who already have the Nintendo Switch version will need to buy the game again to play the enhanced version. This is in addition to needing to buy the DLC again in the Nintendo Switch 2 version. However, players can transfer save data from the Nintendo Switch version to Nintendo Switch 2, allowing them to play from where they last left off. Those who purchase the physical copy will also need to consider the 24 GB+ file size for Sonic x Shadow Generations, since it’s a game-key card title.
Final Weapon previously reviewed Sonic X Shadow Generations for Nintendo Switch 2 and gave it a 4/5 score, noting that it’s “superb with crisp visuals and locked 60 FPS gameplay that doesn’t skip a beat, or frame. The game offers two fun and compelling campaigns full of content in Sonic Generations and Shadow Generations that will keep new fans and completionists coming back for more.”
