GWAR has officially made its way into Mutant Football League 2, bringing its wild characters and destruction to the field. The Antarctica Scumdogs DLC is available now for $6.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam, giving players a new team that seems more interested in taking opponents out than actually winning football games.
The Antarctica Scumdogs are easily one of the most destructive teams in the game with seven GWAR members leading the roster. Blöthar the Berserker, BälSäc the Jaws ‘O Death, JiZMak Da Gusha, Grodius Maximus, Beefcake the Mighty, Sawborg Destructo and Bonesnapper the Cave Troll are all playable. The rest of the lineup includes Scumdog slaves, Bohabs and other questionable characters who fit right in with the madness.
The DLC also adds the Puke-O-Plex Death Arena, a stadium based on GWAR’s concert setting inside its mythical Antarctic temple. As expected, it’s not exactly a safe place to play football. Fire pits, buzzsaws, blood geysers and mutant worms are scattered throughout the arena, giving players plenty of ways to deal with the opposing team beyond a normal tackle.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Mutant Football League 2 is the spiritual successor to the Sega Genesis cult classic Mutant League Football. It takes the basic idea of arcade football and mixes in monsters, mutants, skeletons, robots and a pretty ridiculous amount of violence. Matches are played 8-on-8, with environmental hazards, Dirty Tricks and brutal hits that can permanently knock players out of the game.
Mutant Football League 2 is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
