Final Fantasy 7's $5,300 Cloud & Sephiroth Release Arrives This October

The greatest rivalry in video game history has been recreated in stunning detail, as an expensive new Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth release brings Cloud and Sephiroth to life, so long as fans are willing to spend $5300 for the privilege of owning it.

Cloud and Sephiroth have been battling since '97, with an enmity that expands beyond Final Fantasy 7, extending into Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring, the Dissidia series, and even Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Sephiroth might be a genetically-altered super soldier with the strength to destroy armies, but he keeps having trouble taking down a single spiky-haired swordsman swinging a giant piece of metal, which means the rivalry continues.

Final Fantasy 7 fans in the United Kingdom and Europe now have the chance to order one of the most expensive pieces of merchandise ever released for the franchise, as pre-orders have now opened on the Square Enix website for the Masterline Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth 1/4 Scale — Cloud Strife vs. Sephiroth figures. The set was released in North America back in July, but it's becoming available in other territories in October.

While the two figures are stunning, the most eye-catching part is the price, costing $5300 USD/£3,999. It bears mentioning that they can also be purchased separately, and there's a third figure, based on Zack Fair, that can also be added to the conflict, letting the two heroes team up to take on the monstrous killer that took so much from them.

Cloud & Sephiroth Come to Life With Masterline Figures

The Cloud and Sephiroth figures stand at around 68cm each and are intended to be posed next to each other, as if mid fight. Cloud comes with his iconic Buster Sword, but it can be switched out for the Crystal Sword or the Umbral Blade, the latter of which is exclusive to this set. There's also five Materia that can be put into the blade of Cloud's weapons, as the Buster Sword has the same two slots as the video games, while the Umbral Blade has five.

While the Sephiroth figure only has his Masamune, there are two upper body options, one of which has a great black wing growing out of his shoulder. This allows fans to pick a Sephiroth based on the point in the story where he fights Cloud, as he doesn't grow his wing until after Nibelheim in the remake trilogy, and didn't have it at all in the original Final Fantasy 7.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation launches April 8, 2027, meaning fans still have awhile to wait before the remake trilogy reaches its conclusion. Those who are as rich as the Shinra Corporation can immortalize the trilogy's two greatest characters later this year, keeping them locked in eternal battle in their living room.
